Italian post-war hotels kept a small reading sconce above each headboard, a brass arm and a stone shade pulled close to the page. VITRU No.01 returns to that ritual with a sharper edit. A solid walnut block anchors the wall, a precision-machined brass knuckle pivots forward, and a travertine cylinder swings on the joint to catch the page exactly where you set it.
The walnut base is milled from a single board of European wood, finished in deep oil to bring the grain into focus. The travertine cylinder is hand-carved from a quarry block, beige in our cream version or charred to volcano black in the dark variant. The articulated joint is solid brass, machined to hold position under the weight of the stone shade. A vintage pull-chain switch hangs at the side, a small mechanical pleasure that survives the LED era.
VITRU No.01 measures 4¾ in (12 cm) tall by 1½ in (4 cm) deep, compact enough for a headboard, a hallway, or a vanity flank. It hardwires into a standard junction box and uses one E26 bulb up to 40W (free dimmable bulb included). Fully dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. The 360-degree brass joint lets you aim the cylinder straight down for reading or angle it across a desk. Damp-rated for bathrooms and covered exteriors.
VITRU No.01 ships in two finishes (Cream Travertine or Volcano Black) and two arm directions (Left or Right). Mount a pair in mirror to flank a bed, or run a row above a hallway gallery wall. Pair with the linear VITRU No.02 sconce in the same room for a coherent travertine language, or set against the OLIVA alabaster sconces for a softer counterpoint.
