The shape of a fallen leaf.
When we designed FOGLIA, we kept returning to an old object in a Tuscan villa: a small walnut shield, the size of a hand, mounted on a wall with an oil lamp set into its face. Centuries before bedside lights existed, that shield was a way to bring fire close to a book.
FOGLIA is built on that idea. A teardrop backplate of solid walnut, slightly cupped, with a single opal glass globe cradled against it. The wood grain runs vertically, picking up the soft warmth of the globe.
The shape is organic, almost like a fallen leaf. Off-axis. Not symmetrical. It draws the eye without demanding it.
Solid wood, opal glass, no compromise
The shield is cut and shaped from one piece of walnut. The grain runs through it, not laminated, not veneered. The globe is hand-blown opal glass, the kind that diffuses light evenly through its full curve.
The light reflects off the wood interior, picking up the warm tone before it spreads into the room. The result is softer than glass alone.
Plug-in or hardwired
Ships with a 5-foot braided cord and in-line switch for plug-in flexibility, or remove the cord for direct hardwire. G9 socket. Works with a plug-in lamp dimmer.
One on a nightstand. A pair beside a mirror. Adapts to the room you have.
