Why you'll love the BOCCA No.01

  • Volcanic travertine bells with open pores. Each bell is hand-cut from volcanic travertine and left unfilled, with tight pores and a slightly darker cream tone. No two bells carry the same pattern.
  • Four ways to hang the same bell. Choose Single over a reading nook, Double or Triple Linear on a 23.6 in walnut bar over an island or table, or Triple Circular on an 11.8 in plate in an entry.
  • Free dimmable bulbs, one for every bell. The walnut canopy hardwires to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V and works with a standard wall dimmer. Each 7.1 in bell takes an E26 bulb, and you get one free per socket.
  • Hangs low or high, even on slopes. The 59-inch cord shortens easily at install, and the canopy suits ceilings sloped up to 30 degrees.

One bell. Or three on a line. Or three in a circle.

BOCCA started with a single bell-shaped travertine shade, cut from volcanic stone. The proportions came from the church-bell shape that recurs across Sicilian and Calabrian villages, scaled down to a pendant a person could hang above a kitchen island or a corner banquette. The travertine is volcanic, which means tighter pores and a slightly darker cream tone than the Tuscan variety. It carries shadow well.

From the single shade we built a family. The Single hangs alone. The Double places two bells in a line on a 24-inch walnut beam. The Triple Linear extends to three. The Triple Circular gathers three around a circular plate. The bells stay the same. The geometry changes.

One material story: volcanic travertine on a solid walnut mount.

Volcanic travertine, solid walnut

Each bell is hand-cut from a single block of volcanic travertine, left unfilled. The pores read as texture, the surface stays in its natural matte state. The walnut beam and canopy are solid wood, oil-finished. The cord drops a full 59 inches and adjusts easily during install.

Each bell takes one E26 socket and up to a 40W equivalent LED. All four configurations work with a standard wall dimmer. Sloped-ceiling compatible up to 30 degrees.

Islands, banquettes, dining

Hardwires to any US junction box. Specify the Single above a corner reading nook, the Double above a galley island, the Triple Linear above a long dining table, the Triple Circular as a chandelier in an entry.

Sold per configuration. Four scales of the same idea.
