  • Raw travertine hung from a brass arm. A short cylinder of unfilled travertine, pores and cut marks intact, hangs from a slim aged-brass arm. On top, a turned wood disc caps it and pushes the light down into a clean pool.

A wall sconce that hangs, not mounts.

When we designed TIVOLI, we kept returning to the small kitchen lights of Italian farmhouses: a chunk of stone suspended from a slim metal arm, capped with a wooden disc to catch the heat. Functional. Honest. Made from whatever the house had available. The form had no decorative ambition. That is what made it timeless.

TIVOLI carries that geometry into a contemporary sconce. A short travertine cylinder hangs from a thin brass arm that arcs out from a turned wood backplate. A second wooden disc caps the cylinder, halting the upward spill of light and pushing it down into a clean pool.

It is small, deliberately. 8 inches across, 5.5 inches tall. Sized to be installed in groups along a hallway, above a console, or flanking a mirror.

Travertine, wood, and brass. Nothing else.

The travertine cylinder is cut from raw Italian stock and left unfilled. Each one carries its own pattern of pores and cut marks. The cap and backplate are turned from solid natural oak or American walnut, finished with a low-sheen oil. The arm is solid brass with an aged gold finish that will deepen over the years.

No glue. No filler. The disc threads onto the arm with a brass collar. The cylinder hangs on a short braided cord hidden behind it.

Built for the wall that does not need to shout

Hardwires into any standard US junction box. E26 socket takes a 5W LED bulb (free dimmable bulb included). Dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. Damp-rated (IP44) for bathrooms and covered porches.
