  • Light that grazes a travertine saucer. A turned walnut center hides the bulb, so light skims across the solid beige travertine and picks out its pits and pores. Each saucer comes out slightly different.
  • Bedside sconce or hallway flush mount. At 9.8 inches across, it works on a bedside wall or flush to the ceiling over a hallway or kitchen island. Choose light or dark walnut, oiled to deepen over the years.

When we designed PRATO, we kept returning to a single image: a shallow stone bowl set into a courtyard wall, holding the day's last warmth. Italian monasteries used this gesture for centuries. So did the post-war architects who learned that a quiet plane of stone can do the work of a lamp.

PRATO is a saucer of solid travertine, 9.8 inches across, mounted flush to the wall. At its center, a turned walnut sphere conceals the bulb. The light grazes the stone, picks up its pores, and folds the shadow back into the room.

Available in light or dark walnut to match the architecture around it. Mountable on wall or ceiling, the body works equally well as a flush mount above a hallway, a kitchen island, or a bedside reading wall.

Cut from a single block, finished by hand

The saucer is turned from one piece of beige travertine. No veneers, no resin fills. The natural pits and pores stay visible because they are what gives the stone its tone. Each piece arrives slightly different from the last.

The walnut center is lathe-turned and oiled, not lacquered. Over years it deepens. The hardware is concealed in the canopy, so what you see from the room is stone and wood, nothing more.
