Italian sculptor Constantino Nivola believed a stone object should hold its own weight in a room without needing decoration. MORA No.02 follows that idea to its conclusion. A tapered travertine cone supports a thick travertine cap, and the only light comes from a hidden LED disc tucked into the joint between the two pieces.
Each lamp is sculpted from solid travertine, beige with the natural porosity that no two stones share. The base tapers upward from a wider foot, a deliberate echo of column drums in early Roman architecture. The cap is a thicker travertine slab, cut as a separate piece and seated on the cone. A precision LED module is hidden at the joint, washing both pieces from inside the seam so the light source never shows.
MORA No.02 measures 4¾ in across by 11¾ in tall (Ø 12 x H 30 cm) and weighs 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg), heavy enough to anchor itself on any surface. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet via a 59 in (150 cm) cord with inline plug switch. Indoor use. The integrated LED runs warm white at 3000K, or steps through a tri-color adjustable range, 50,000-hour rated and not user-replaceable.
Set MORA No.02 on a console in an entryway, on a buffet in a dining room, or on a bedside table where its weight reads as steadying. The all-travertine silhouette pairs naturally with MORA No.01, which adds a glass dome over the same stone vocabulary.
