Why you'll love the SOLE No.01

Cream travertine cradling a wood sphere. The dome is cream travertine, polished but unglazed so its pores stay visible. A turned solid wood sphere hangs inside, and the LED washes light down across it.
Walnut or pale wood, 9.1 inches across. Choose the Walnut Sphere or the Natural Wood Sphere. The 6.7-inch-tall dome hangs on a 59-inch leather-look cord, alone over a breakfast bar or in twos and threes over an island.
Wall-dimmable LED rated for 50,000 hours. Hardwired at 120V to a standard U.S. junction box, it dims with a standard wall dimmer. The integrated 3000K LED means there's no bulb to change.
Works on sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees. The canopy suits flat ceilings or slopes up to 30 degrees, and you can shorten the cord at install for a lower ceiling.

A dome cradling a small wooden sun.

SOLE is the kind of pendant we kept coming back to. A travertine dome, deep and slightly off-spherical, holds a turned walnut sphere where the bulb would normally hang. The light source lives inside the dome and washes downward across the wood. The geometry came from the way Mediterranean masons used to cap a column with a stone hemisphere, with a darker bead at the meeting point.

The dome reads as one material, the sphere as another. The cord is brown leather-textured, threaded through a small wood-and-metal canopy. Two finishes: walnut sphere or pale natural wood sphere.

The dome is cut from a single block of cream travertine, polished but not glazed so the pores stay visible. The sphere is turned solid walnut (or natural wood), oil-finished. The LED is integrated, rated for 50,000 hours, warm white at 3000K. No bulb to replace.
