  • Stone cap above, glass pearl below. A small dome of real travertine sits over a hand-blown opal globe, joined by a solid wood stem. The opal turns the G9 bulb into a soft glow with no hot spot.

When we designed SOVA No.04, we were reading old monographs on Carlo Scarpa and the way he hung single mineral elements over architectural voids. A small mass of stone, anchored above. A clear point of light, anchored below. The two together made the room.

SOVA No.04 takes that idea and miniaturizes it. A dome of real travertine sits as a cap. Beneath it, a solid walnut stem holds a hand-blown opal globe. The dome is the gesture. The opal does the work.

Hangs from a 59-inch cord, adjustable in length at install. Compatible with sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees.

Mineral and grain

The travertine is left raw, with its natural beige texture and small mineral pores visible. The walnut is solid, hand-oiled. Two finishes on the stem: warm European Walnut, or lighter Natural Wood. The opal globe is mouth-blown thick.

120V wiring. G9 socket, 7W max LED. Dimmable with a standard wall dimmer, using the free dimmable bulb included.

For low ceilings, kitchens, and reading corners

Compact enough at five inches across to live over a single seat, a small breakfast nook, or a bedside.
