Why you'll love the STELO No.02

  • Travertine that washes light up and down. Two cones of warm light leave the top and bottom of a solid travertine column, one toward the ceiling and one toward the floor. The stone's pores and cut marks stay visible.
  • Only 2½ inches wide on the wall. The column stands 12¾ inches tall on a turned walnut backplate that hides the wiring. A pair frames a doorway, and a run of four or five lines a corridor.
  • Two E26 sockets, free dimmable bulbs. It hardwires to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V and dims with a standard wall dimmer, so you can soften both washes at once.
  • Damp-rated for bathrooms and porches. With an IP44 damp rating, you can use it to flank a bathroom mirror or light a covered porch.

Architecture, distilled to a column.

When we drew STELO No.02, we were looking at the bollards lining the entrances of Italian palazzi: short, dense, vertical, and lit from within. They never call attention to themselves. They organize the wall around them.

The sconce takes that exact form into the home. A 12.6 inch column of raw travertine throws light up and down in two clean cones, mounted on a small turned walnut backplate. From the side, the column is the entire fixture. From the front, it nearly disappears against a textured wall.

Installed in pairs, it frames a doorway. Installed in a run of four or five, it draws a vertical rhythm across an entire corridor.

Solid travertine, two bulbs

The column is cut from a single block of Italian travertine. The natural pores and cut marks remain visible. Inside live two E26 sockets, one at each end, that throw a warm pool of light up to the ceiling and down to the floor. The walnut backplate hides the junction and the wiring.

No diffuser, no glass. The stone itself is the shade.

For corridors, vanities, and quiet walls

Hardwires into a standard US junction box. Two E26 sockets take 40W max bulbs each (LED equivalent, free dimmable bulbs included). Dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. Damp-rated (IP44) for bathrooms and covered exteriors.

12.6 inches tall. Sized to read as architecture, not decoration.
