PIETRA No.08 was drawn for the corner of a reading room, where you want one light to do two things: provide a soft ambient backsplash off the wall, and a directional beam onto the book in your hands.
The wall plate is 7.9 inches of cast terrazzo, with real mineral aggregate visible at the cut face. Mounted at its lower edge is a small turned walnut cylinder holding an E26 socket. The cylinder pivots slightly to aim the beam down onto a chair, a desk, the edge of a bed.

Real terrazzo, real walnut
The wall plate is hand-cast terrazzo with beige and white aggregate, ground flat to expose the inclusions. The cylinder is solid European walnut, turned and oil-finished. The metal hardware is finished matte, low-key, never competing with the materials.
Wired for a standard E26 socket. Accepts any standard A19 LED bulb up to 40W equivalent. Optional pull-chain switch on the cylinder for direct on-off without leaving the chair.
For reading corners, bedrooms, baths, covered porches
Damp-rated (IP44), which means it lives wherever a bedroom sconce or a primary bath sconce is needed. Dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. Hardwires into any standard junction box. Mounts on wall or ceiling.
