A small piece of stained glass, plugged in.

When we designed VETRA, we kept returning to the leaded glass workshops of Murano and the small village windows of post-war Italy. Squares of textured glass set into a metal frame, each piece showing a different cast of light. We wanted the same effect, scaled down for a bedside table.

The shade is true mosaic: individual squares of textured glass, leaded into a conical frame. The base is mirror-finished chrome, polished to bounce the shade's colors slightly. The cord is 59 inches, with an inline pushbutton switch.

The lamp is small (6.7 inches across, 9.8 high). Sized for nightstands, console tables, and the corners of small reading rooms.

Three glass colorways

We offer the shade in three palettes: cobalt blue with clear, vibrant orange with amber, and a pure clear version. Each square is real textured glass, leaded by hand. The seams stay visible. The variations are part of how the lamp catches light.

The chrome base is bright, intentionally. We chose a mirror finish for the way it doubles the shade's color from below.
