Stone interrupted by light.

PIETRA No.05 began with a single drawing in a 1968 Olivetti studio booklet: a vertical block of stone, sliced through by horizontal bands of glass. We translated the idea with materials available today. A column of real travertine, traversed by three rings of cast acrylic, each ring lit from within by integrated LED.

The three rings step in size. From below they read as three pools of light separated by stone. From the side, like a sculpture interrupted at intervals.

Two stones to choose from: cream travertine for warmth, or emerald marble with white veining for projects that need a darker note.

Real stone, integrated LED

The column is cut from a single block, the rings cast from optical-grade acrylic. The LED is integrated, three color temperatures (warm, neutral, cool) cycled by an in-line touch switch.

Designed to sit in proportion on a side table or console without overpowering it. 12 inches tall, 6 inches wide.
