A sculpture that became a sconce.
When we found ANIMA No.02, it was sitting on a shelf in an atelier near Sesto Calende, half lit by the afternoon. The shape was not a lamp. It was a sculpted form that happened to hold light. We brought it into the ANIMA family because it shares the same instinct as its sister, the resin wave sconce: light reads as material, not as fixture.
The body is hand-sculpted polymer with a deep, irregular texture along its full length. The diffuser inside is crystalline acrylic with a gradient that runs from copper at the top to alabaster white at the base. When the LED is on, the gradient draws a vertical wash of warm light. When it is off, the texture and the tone do the speaking.
Compact at 10.6 inches tall and 3.9 inches wide. Designed to sit alone or in a quiet pair against a plain wall.
Sculpted polymer, crystalline acrylic
The polymer body is cast and hand-finished. No two surfaces are identical. The texture mimics the kind of wear that wood and stone carry across decades, except the form is freer because the material allows it. The diffuser is a single block of crystalline acrylic, tinted by hand to hold the gradient.
Polymer doesn't pretend to be ceramic. It doesn't corrode in humid rooms. It holds its tone for decades and ages the way the best modern materials do: invisibly.
