Why you'll love the RIGA No.05

  • A scalloped petal that softens the glow. Each white ceramic shade is hand-shaped with a wavy rim around a gentle inward dome. The scallop breaks up the edge of the light, so the pool on the wall stays soft.
  • Sized for a bedside or reading wall. The 7-inch shade rides on a solid antique brass arm that reaches 6 inches out and swings at the shoulder. Turn it toward the pillow or a reading chair.
  • Your electrician wires it like any sconce. It mounts to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V and works with a standard wall dimmer for low evening light. A free dimmable E26 bulb comes with it.

The softest gesture in the family.

RIGA No.05 closes the series. A wavy scalloped ceramic disc with a soft inward dome, hand-pressed in the same atelier as the other four. The rim is shaped before firing into a gentle scallop, almost like a small flower laid open against the wall.

Where No.03 is a sharp pleated parasol and No.04 is a mid-century coolie, No.05 is the wabi-sabi gesture: irregular, hand-shaped, never quite uniform. The kiln moves the scallop a little in finishing and that is the form.

Same brass swing arm. Same beaded ceramic backplate. The family stays coherent.

Hand-shaped ceramic, solid brass arm

Each scallop is shaped by hand on the ceramic press, then settles further in the kiln. No two read identically and that is the point. The brass arm is solid, machined, lacquered antique brass, articulated at the shoulder.

The backplate is the same beaded ceramic disc as the rest of the family.

Made for bedrooms, reading walls, and quiet halls

Standard E26 socket, dimmable, free dimmable bulb included. Hardwires into any standard junction box.

The hand-shaped gesture of the family. Best where the room asks for softness.
