Why you'll love the RIGA No.01

  • Ribbed ceramic, lit like a small column. The hand-pressed white ceramic cylinder shares the vertical ribs of its beaded backplate. Lit, it gives a soft column of glow, and off it looks like a quiet ceramic vessel.
  • Tilt the shade toward your book. The solid antique brass arm reaches out 6 inches and pivots at the shoulder and socket, then locks with a brass thumb screw. Tip the shade to read or set it flat against a mirror.
  • Sized between reading and vanity light. At 5 inches across and 5.5 inches tall, it fits beside a bed, next to a mirror or above a reading chair.
  • Bulb included, dimmer ready. The E26 socket comes with a free dimmable bulb, and the sconce works with a standard wall dimmer. It hardwires to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V.

The same backplate. Five different shades.

When we designed the RIGA series, we wanted a single architectural gesture that would scale across a house. One ribbed ceramic backplate. One slim brass swing arm. Then five hand-pressed ceramic shades, each with its own posture: cylinder, taper, coolie, pleated petal, scalloped corolla.

RIGA No.01 is the cylinder. A tall ribbed shade in white ceramic, finished with the same striped texture as the backplate. The shade reads as a small column of glow when lit, a quiet ceramic vessel when off. At five inches across and five and a half tall, it sits between a reading sconce and a vanity light.

Held to the wall by a solid brass swing arm, articulated, the shade can be tipped to read a book or angled flat against a mirror.

Hand-pressed ceramic, solid brass arm

The shade and backplate are pressed in white ceramic, hand-finished with vertical ribs and a beaded edge on the wall disc. Every piece is slightly different in the way the kiln finishes the glaze.

The swing arm is solid brass, machined and hand-finished. It articulates at the shoulder and at the socket, locking with a brass thumb screw. No plastic, no plated steel.

Made for bedside, vanity, and reading chairs

Standard E26 socket, dimmable, free dimmable bulb included. Hardwires into any standard junction box. Sized for the side of a bed, the side of a mirror, or above a reading chair.

One ceramic cylinder, one brass arm. Most rooms want a matched pair.
