A glass shield set into an iron frame.
When we designed PILA, we kept returning to the post-modern Italian sconces of the late seventies: a heavy iron frame, a single curved sheet of glass set against it, the bulb behind catching prismatic reflections through the glass. The form is graphic. The light is warm. The hardware is honest.
PILA offers three architectures: Single, a slim twelve-inch column with one shield; Twin, two shields side by side; Tall, a 23¾-inch stack of two shields top and bottom. Each is hand-forged in solid iron and finished in one of three combinations: Matte Black with Smoked Glass for graphic restraint, Antique Brass with Frosted Glass for warmth, Polished Chrome with Clear Glass for clean post-modern reference.
The fixture wears itself well in a hallway, beside a bed, or framing a tall mirror.
Forged iron, single sheet of curved glass
Each frame is hand-forged in solid iron, not stamped sheet metal. The weight is in the hand. The curved glass shield is cut from a single sheet and set into the frame with a brass cinch. No silicone, no plastic clip.
Bulbs are replaceable E14 candelabra, not integrated LED. The fixture is built to outlive the bulbs.
