When we sketched CIELO, we kept thinking about the round bracket sconces of mid-century Italian apartment buildings. A single opal globe held aloft by the smallest possible piece of metal hardware. The globe is the subject, the bracket is the scaffolding.

CIELO No.01 is built around an 8-inch hand-blown opal globe. The arm is a slim cylinder of metal, attached to a round backplate. Total height around 14 inches, projection 8 inches off the wall.

Two finishes: matte black for graphic contrast, brushed brass for warmth. The globe is always the same opal white.

Hand-blown opal, cylindrical metal arm

The globe is blown by hand into an opal-white glass mold, then annealed for clarity. The opal diffuses the bulb into a soft, even glow. No hot spots, no cold patches.

The cylindrical arm is metal tube, finished in matte powder coat or brushed brass plating. Round backplate sits flush to the wall.

Built for the wall above a sofa, bed, or console

Single E26/E27 socket, dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. Hardwired to a standard US junction box via the round backplate.

Reads best in pairs flanking a sofa or bed.
