The mushroom lamp, in real stone.

The mushroom lamp is a 1960s Italian archetype. We took the form and pulled it apart, replacing the molded plastic base with a single block of real marble, and the glass dome with hand-blown opal in proper proportion. The result is a familiar silhouette in unfamiliar materials.

The cone base reads heavy. Marble has weight that plastic and resin can only suggest. The dome above is light, glowing from within, the contrast between the two materials is the piece.

Three marbles: deep Emerald with white veining, Volcano Black, or Carrara White. Each base is cut from a single block.

Real marble, hand-blown opal

The base is cut from a single block of Italian marble and finished to a soft satin polish. The dome is hand-blown opal glass, slightly milky, the kind that diffuses light through its full surface without a hotspot. The light source is concealed inside the dome.

Plug-in with a 5-foot braided black cable and an in-line dimmer. No app, no settings menu.

Built for a side table or bedside

11 inches tall, 7 inches wide at the base. Sized to sit in proportion on a side table without dominating. E26 socket accepts any standard bulb.
