Walk into the Brion tomb at San Vito d'Altivole and you find Carlo Scarpa's signature move: a single vertical mass of stone, lit from behind so the texture reads as relief. VITRU No.02 is a domestic version of that same gesture. A long travertine bar mounts to a small walnut block, and an integrated LED hides behind the column, casting an indirect halo along the stone face.
The travertine column is quarried in solid form, then cut into a 1-inch (2.5 cm) square section that exposes the natural pores along every face. The walnut block is milled from a thick European piece and offered in dark walnut or light wood, oil-finished to set off the stone. A precision LED strip runs the length of the back side, lighting the wall before it lights the room. Warm white at 3000K, rated for 50,000 hours of continuous use.
VITRU No.02 comes in two sizes: 21¾ in (55 cm) and 35½ in (90 cm), both at 1 in (2.5 cm) thick. It hardwires into a standard junction box, wired for 120V. The integrated LED dims with a standard wall dimmer. Damp-rated for bathrooms and covered exteriors. The fixture sits a half-inch off the wall, so the back glow reads as a soft outline rather than a hard spotlight.
Mount a pair to flank a fireplace, or run the longer 35½-inch version vertically beside a primary bathroom mirror. VITRU No.02 reads beautifully alongside the smaller VITRU No.01 reading sconce in the same room, the two pieces sharing the travertine and walnut palette. The OLIVA sconces and the VERTIN flush mount sit naturally in the same scheme.
