  • Stone and bronze in stacked bands. Two hand-carved rings of yellow travertine bracket a band of oxidized solid bronze. The bronze is left unlacquered, so its warm umber keeps deepening over the years.
  • Light pours down, bronze glows warm. The bottom ring opens to a small cavity that sends a soft column of light straight down, while the bronze band picks up a warmer glow at the sides.

Architecture in miniature.

When we designed DOMUS, we were thinking about Roman cornices. The way a profile cantilever can read as both ornament and structure. Stone, bronze, stone, bronze. Each layer about as thick as a fingerwidth. Repeated until it becomes a column.

The Flush Mount is compact: 6.7 inches across, 5.9 deep. From below, the eye reads it as a sculpted disc. From the side, it reads as a section drawing made solid.

We built it to be hung low, where the layered profile carries. Above a small reading nook. At the corner of a bar. In a place where one looks up.

Solid travertine, aged bronze

Two rings of yellow travertine bracket a wide band of bronze. The stone is real, carved from a single block per ring. The bronze is real, oxidized to a warm umber that will deepen for years.

The light comes from a single E26/E27 socket inside. The bottom travertine ring opens to a small interior cavity, so light spills downward in a soft column. Side light bounces off the bronze and reads warmer still.

Plug in, hang low, stand back

Surface-mount installation into a standard ceiling junction box. 120V. One E26/E27 socket, free dimmable bulb included. We recommend a warm LED, 5 to 8 watts.

One DOMUS does the work of a small architectural statement. Most rooms only need one.
