  • Opal glass that glows soft and even. The mouth-blown opal teardrop is sandblasted inside, so the bulb becomes an even, warm glow. A small cap of real travertine covers the socket where cord meets glass.
  • A real knot in black braided cord. The cord drops from a turned walnut backplate and is tied off with a true knot, not glued or hidden. It's braided cotton over a copper conductor.
  • Slim enough for a headboard wall. At 3.1 in wide and 7.9 in tall, it hangs beside your headboard, along a hallway or in a corner where a table lamp has no room.

When we designed CORTO No.02, we kept returning to the small wall pendants of Mediterranean apartments. A length of black fabric cord. A simple opal teardrop. A piece of stone where the cord meets the bulb. Nothing else.

CORTO No.02 hangs from a turned walnut backplate. The cord is black braided fabric, tied off with a real knot, not glued or hidden. A travertine cap covers the socket. The shade is opal teardrop glass, the kind that throws a soft, even glow.

Compact at 3.1 inches wide, 7.9 inches tall. Built for the small wall a bedside or hallway calls for. Not a statement, just light.

Real glass, real stone, real knot

The teardrop is mouth-blown opal glass. Smooth on the outside, sandblasted on the inside to diffuse the bulb without losing warmth.

The travertine cap is hand-cut from a single stone. The cord is real braided cotton over a copper conductor. The knot is tied by the assembler in the workshop, not pre-formed.
