Italian porcelain workshops in Liguria and Tuscany have hand-painted blue motifs onto white glaze for four centuries, a tradition that came home from Ming-dynasty trade routes through Venice. MELI No.01 sits in that lineage. The outer face stays pure white, the inner curve carries hand-applied blue floral patterns, and the contrast between the two only reveals itself when the lamp is lit.
The shade is fired in premium ceramic, with the white exterior left smooth and the interior detailed by hand in deep cobalt blue. The hardware is a robust iron casting in antique bronze, the kind that ages in place without rusting. The cord is twisted textile in a vintage tone, the same kind that wrapped Italian café pendants a hundred years ago. The ceiling canopy is included and finished in the same bronze.
MELI No.01 comes in three silhouettes, all sharing the same artisanal pattern set. Corolle reads as a stepped bell at 9¾ in across by 6¼ in tall (Ø 25 x H 16 cm). Ombrelle drops into a soft scalloped umbrella at 9¾ in across by 5 in tall (Ø 25 x H 13 cm). Sillage rises with a deeper sculpted profile at 9 in across by 6 in tall (Ø 23 x H 15 cm). The textile cord measures 39 in (100 cm), easily shortened for low ceilings. One E26 socket with a free dimmable bulb included, dimmable with a standard wall dimmer, with light coverage rated at 54 to 108 sq ft. Voltage 120V AC.
