  • Glossy cream bell, unlacquered brass cap. The ceramic shade is hand-glazed in glossy cream, and the light catches along its festooned rim. The cap is solid brass, left unlacquered so it darkens with time.
  • Seven inches across, made for clusters. At 7 inches wide and 4.7 inches tall, it's sized to hang three over a kitchen island, two by a coffee bar or one above a bistro table for two.

The smallest piece in the kitchen.

When we designed MELI No.03, we wanted a pendant that disappears when the kitchen is quiet and carries when it is full. A bell-shape with a festooned edge, hand-glazed in cream porcelain. Italian provincial kitchens have used this silhouette for generations. We made it smaller, with better hardware.

The shade is real ceramic, thrown and glazed by hand. The festooned rim is shaped wet, before firing. The cap is solid brass, unlacquered, set to darken over time. The cord is twisted textile, 59 inches long.

At 7 inches across, MELI is sized for clusters. Three above a kitchen island. Two flanking a coffee bar. One above a small dinner table for two.

Hand-glazed, never identical

Each shade is thrown on a wheel and finished by hand. The cream glaze has a glossy finish that catches the light along the festooned rim. No two are identical.

The brass is real, not plated. Unlacquered. It will darken over the years, the way real brass should. The patina is the point.

Wires into any ceiling box

Wires into any standard ceiling junction box. 120V. Standard E26/E27 socket. Free dimmable bulb included (warm LED, 4 to 8 watts). Twisted cord trims to your ceiling height.
