Yes, a free dimmable bulb
A small fluted column on a precise hinge.
NOTA reads as one small idea, executed cleanly. A cylinder of fluted solid wood, mounted to a tiny machined bracket that swivels on a metal ball joint. Built to point. At a painting, a reading chair, a tile detail in a bathroom, a niche above a desk.
The body is 6.3 inches long, 3.1 inches across. The fluting is hand-cut into solid walnut or ash, so the shade reads its grain as well as its grooves. The bracket is precision-machined metal in nickel or matte black.
Inside the cylinder, a single GU10 socket holds a standard spot bulb. The pivot lets the beam rotate through nearly a full half-sphere. Aim it once. Aim it again next year.
Hand-cut flutes on real wood
The cylinder is solid hardwood, not veneer. Available in oil-finished walnut or natural ash. The flutes are machine-cut then hand-sanded so the edges read as a single piece of wood, not a glued construction.
The hinge bracket is machined metal, finished in either nickel or matte black. Both colorways are hard-anodized so the finish does not flake at the pivot. The GU10 socket is high-quality, sized for a 10W max LED spot.
