Why you'll love the ARCA No.01

  • Fluted travertine with a glowing keystone. Flutes are carved by hand into an arched tablet of cream travertine, crowned by an opal glass globe. The veining is unique to each piece.
  • Stone and solid wood, under 10 inches. A solid wood backplate holds the stone forward off the wall. At 9¾ inches tall and 4¼ inches wide, a pair frames an entry door or a console.
  • Bathroom or porch, wall or ceiling. The fixture is damp-rated, so you can mount it in a bathroom or by a covered exterior door. It also works as a small ceiling accent.
  • Globe lifts off, free bulb inside. A free dimmable G9 bulb ships with it, and you reach it by lifting off the globe. It hardwires to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V and works with a standard wall dimmer.

A small arched tablet, fluted by hand.

When we designed ARCA, we kept returning to the small arched stone tablets we have seen on the walls of old Italian chapels: a single piece of stone, cut into a tall rounded arch, fluted with a series of vertical grooves running through the center. Held to the wall, lit gently at the top, the tablet becomes a sculpture more than a fixture.

ARCA is built on that idea. A ten-inch tall arched tablet, hand-cut from raw beige travertine, with deep vertical flutes carved into the front. A solid wood backplate behind, in walnut or white, holds the stone forward. A small opal glass globe is cradled at the top, where the arch curves over.

Lit, the globe sits at the keystone of the arch. The flutes catch warm light unevenly down the front of the stone.

Hand-cut stone, solid wood, opal glass

The travertine tablet is cut from a single block and the flutes are carved by hand. Veining is unique to each piece. The backplate is real wood, in walnut or painted white. The opal globe is hand-blown, replaceable.

The fixture is damp-rated. Rated for bathrooms and covered exteriors.
