A small ceramic shade, lit from inside.
When we designed SERA, we kept returning to the simple ceramic pendants that hang in the back kitchens of family restaurants in Northern Italy. Pressed clay, a brass socket, a twisted cloth cord climbing to the ceiling. Nothing else. Light passes through the porcelain wall instead of bouncing off a metal cone, and the room reads warmer.
SERA is built on that idea. Semi-translucent ceramic, hand-pressed with a fine vertical flute, paired with a brushed brass socket and a vintage twisted cord in the same brass tone. The shade glows from within when lit, and reads as a quiet ceramic vessel when the bulb is off.
Three silhouettes let you scale the gesture: a compact Fluted Pebble for low-hung clusters, a Fluted Cylinder for the standard ceiling drop, and a tall Fluted Flask when the room asks for a vertical line.
Pressed in semi-translucent ceramic
Each shade is pressed in a thin enough wall that light moves through the clay itself. The vertical flutes catch the glow unevenly. Where the ridge is thicker the light slows; in the grooves it passes more freely. The result is a soft striped warmth rather than a single bright cone.
The socket and canopy are pressed iron in a brushed brass finish. The cord is a real twisted cloth cable in a matched tone, not a printed plastic imitation. Cord length is 79 inches, adjustable on installation.
Made for tables, islands, and low ceilings
Standard E26 socket, dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. Lights a zone of roughly 110 to 160 square feet. Hang singly over a reading chair, in a row of three above a kitchen island, or in a cluster of mixed silhouettes for a more sculptural composition.
One ceramic vessel, hung from a brass cord. Most kitchens want a run of three.
