Why you'll love the ALABA No.05

  • Faceted alabaster, lit from behind. Each block is cut like a gem into sharp facets and backlit. The edges catch shadow as you walk past, and the stone's veining differs on every block.
  • Solo, Duo or Trio on a brass spine. A blackened solid brass spine carries one, two or three blocks: 5.5 in tall for an accent, 11.4 in for symmetry, 13 in for a short column of light. Each is 5.7 in wide.
  • Every block gets its own free bulb. Free dimmable G9 bulbs are included, one per socket. Wire it to a standard U.S. junction box at 120V and run it on a standard wall dimmer.
  • Sealed for vanities and powder rooms. Each face of the stone is sealed against moisture, and the fixture is damp-rated, so you can hang it beside a bathroom mirror.

When we designed ALABA No.05, we kept returning to the way medieval stonemasons faceted alabaster panels to fill cathedral apses, before glass was available in quantity. ALABA is built on that idea, scaled to a wall: blocks of real alabaster cut into faceted shields, stacked vertically, lit from a slim blackened brass spine behind.

The stone is the piece. Each block reveals its own mineral veining when lit, no two identical. The geometry is sharp where the stone is soft, faceted edges catching shadow at every angle.

Available as a solo block for a quiet accent, a duo for symmetry, or a trio for a vertical column of light running half the height of a room.

Real alabaster, not resin imitation

Alabaster is a soft stone. We cut it in small ateliers where the work is done by hand, then seal each face to protect it from moisture. The translucency is real. Hold a lit ALABA against a candle and you see why this stone was used for centuries.

The spine is blackened brass. It disappears against the wall and lets the stone do the talking.
