  • Steam-bent walnut cradling a frosted globe. One continuous curve of solid dark walnut, with no laminate or veneer, holds a 4 in hand-blown frosted globe. The glass softens the warm bulb into a quiet glow.

A wood bracket cradling a single glass globe.

When we designed CURVA, we kept returning to the wooden brackets that hold ceramic bowls on a small shelf in old Italian kitchens. A single piece of wood, bent into a soft curve, carrying something round and quiet on top. We replaced the bowl with a frosted glass globe lit from within and built the rest of the fixture around the gesture.

The wood is solid dark walnut, steam-bent into a single continuous curve. The globe is four inches across, frosted glass, sitting on the curve like an egg in a small wooden cup. The whole fixture is small: four inches square, four and three quarters deep.

Hung alone over a small shelf, in a pair flanking a bedside, or in a quiet row down a hallway.

Solid walnut, frosted hand-blown glass

The bracket is steam-bent from a single piece of solid walnut. No glued laminates. No veneer. The wood ages slowly with light and warms over time. The globe is hand-blown frosted glass, replaceable, sitting on a felt-lined cradle that holds it without scratching.

The socket is a standard G9, dimmable with a standard wall dimmer. A free dimmable bulb is included.
