A cone of travertine under a brass dome. No cord.
TIVOLI No.01 is named after the town outside Rome whose quarries have supplied travertine since antiquity. The shape is the oldest one in portable lighting: a stem and a dome. We made the stem out of stone and the dome out of brass, then took the cord away.
The base is a tapered cone of natural travertine, with the open pores and cream-to-honey banding that make every piece slightly different. On top sits a wide spun dome in a brushed brass finish, crowned by a small travertine knob with a brass cap. The light falls beneath the dome and grazes down the stone, so the texture of the travertine becomes part of the glow.
Rechargeable, three brightness levels
Integrated 5W LED in warm white (3300 to 3500K). Three brightness levels. Charges over USB, then lives wherever the evening goes: the dinner table, the terrace, the bedside, a bathroom shelf.
10.6 in (27 cm) tall, 5.9 in (15 cm) across the dome, 3 in (7.5 cm) at the foot of the stone. Two dome finishes: Brushed Brass for warm rooms, Matte Black for graphic ones.
Real stone, honestly finished
Travertine is a natural stone. Pores, small cavities and shifts in tone are part of the material, not flaws. Wipe with a dry cloth. Indoor use or covered terrace.
