The mushroom lamp is one of the cleanest gestures Italian post-war design left behind. Vico Magistretti and the Milan workshops gave it a low dome on a slim stem, and the silhouette read the same on a desk, a bedside table, or a hotel reception counter. The DOMA No.01 keeps that shape and removes the cord. Rechargeable, touch-controlled, and small enough to move room to room or out to the terrace at dinner.
The dome and base are lacquered metal, hand-finished to a glossy enamel that catches light the way a vintage Italian ceramic does. The stem is a single slim metal rod, threaded into a small disc foot weighted to stay put on uneven surfaces. A diffuser inside the dome softens the integrated LED into a small circle of warm light on the table below. Build quality reads heavy for the size, which is what you want from a lamp that gets carried around.
Tall and slim. About 14.2 in tall (36 cm) on a 4.7 in (12 cm) base disc, with the dome about 6.3 in across (16 cm). Integrated 3W LED, USB-C rechargeable, with about 8 hours of runtime on a full charge. Touch the top of the dome to switch on and to dim through three brightness levels. No cord, no junction box, no electrician. Lift and place. Damp-rated for covered outdoor use, which makes it a strong choice for evening dinners on a patio, a bedside table, or a bathroom shelf.
