Quiet light, cut from stone.
When we designed ALABA No.02, we kept returning to the way Roman and Florentine architects let stone do the work of light. A thin slab over an arch, lit from behind, becomes a panel of warm glow rather than a fixture. The wall takes on a softness that no shade or louver can imitate.
ALABA No.02 is built on that idea. A narrow column of real alabaster, polished thin enough to glow, set against a slim white metal back plate. Three heights let it scale to the space: 12 inches for a powder room, 18 inches for a hallway, 24 inches for a stairwell or vertical alcove.
The integrated LED lets you pick the temperature for the room: 3000K for warm living spaces, 4000K for kitchens and baths, 6000K when you want the alabaster's natural cream to read closer to white.
Each piece reveals its own veining
The alabaster is cut and polished by hand. Every panel reveals a different pattern of mineral veining once lit. Some are quiet and uniform. Others carry sharp dark threads through the cream. We don't sort them, and we don't apologize for the variation. The stone is the point.
The metal back is finished in matte white so the alabaster reads as the entire object. Wired for rigid wall installation into any standard junction box.
Made for vertical walls
Designed to live in entries, bathrooms, hallways, and the flanking walls of bedheads. Pair them in mirror across a vanity, or run three down a stair. The light is even, top to bottom, no hot spots.
