  • Real alabaster, lit from within. Each shade is a single cylinder of natural alabaster. Switch it on and the stone's own veining glows through, so no two sconces look alike.

A piece of stone, lit through.

When we designed ALABA No.01, we kept returning to an image: a single block of alabaster on a windowsill in a Tuscan church, sunlight passing through its veins as if through ribbed glass. ALABA holds that gesture. A cylindrical shade of natural white alabaster, mounted on a slim brass or matte-black bracket, lit from inside by a tubular bulb.

The stone is selected for its translucency. We choose pieces where the veins are visible, not hidden. When the light comes on, the figure of the stone reads through the wall like a stained-glass window in miniature.

Available with a single arm or a twin-arm composition for vanities and entry halls.

Real alabaster, hand-cut

The alabaster is sourced from quarries in Volterra. Each cylinder is cut from a single block. Every piece shows its own pattern. We do not bleach or homogenize the color.

The bracket and backplate are machined from solid brass or finished in a deep matte black lacquer. No plating. The brass develops a soft patina over years. The matte black stays.
