Why you'll love the AOSTA No.01

  • You see the glow, never the bulb. An inverted opal diffuser hides under the rim, so you see the curve of the saucer and a soft pool of light. There's no hot spot when you look up.
  • Wide 17.7-inch saucer, made to hang low. The spun acrylic shell rides on a machined aluminum frame and stands 6.9 inches tall. Hang it low over a kitchen island, a square dining table or a long entry.
  • Three colors, from quiet to warm. Matte black and cool gray stay calm against plaster and wood. Warm orange turns almost terracotta under warm light.
  • Fits sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees. The 59-inch cord adjusts at install. It hardwires at 120V, dims with a standard wall dimmer and ships with a free dimmable E26 bulb.

A wide disc that hides its source.

When we drew AOSTA, we kept circling back to the Italian post-war ateliers that treated a ceiling fixture as a piece of architecture rather than a lamp. Castiglioni's saucers. The unbroken curves of Achille's drafting table.

The result is a 17.5 inch dome of premium acrylic over a precision metal armature, lit from below by an inverted opal diffuser tucked beneath the rim. You see the saucer. You see the soft pool of light. You do not see the bulb. Available in four quiet finishes: matte black, cool gray, off-white, and a single warm orange.

It is meant to float low over an island, anchor a square dining table, or pull a long entryway into one defined center.

Spun acrylic over machined metal

The shell is spun and lacquered acrylic. We chose acrylic over glass for the same reason mid-century Italian designers did: it holds a perfect curve at scale without breaking, and it lights evenly from edge to edge.

The frame is machined aluminum, finished to match. The inverted lower diffuser is silica-gel pressed glass, dense enough to soften any standard E26 bulb without losing warmth.

Built to live where you gather

The 59 inch cord is field-adjustable and works with sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees. Wired for U.S. 120V. Works with a standard wall dimmer using the free dimmable bulb included.

Hangs low over the things that matter. Tables, counters, the bench by the door.
