Pivoting heads. A modest pull-chain. Just enough light to keep one chair in the room awake while the rest of the house slept.

PERA replaces the painted metal shade of that era with a tulip-shaped vessel cut from solid travertine. The dome pivots on a black metal yoke. The pull-chain hangs from the lower edge, so the switch is where your hand goes.

Mounted to a turned walnut backplate. Compact at 4.9 inches wide. Made for a headboard, a hallway, a reading nook by a low chair.

Stone where there used to be enamel

The dome is cut from a single piece of travertine, then hollowed out by hand. The pores stay open on the outer face and warm under direct light. The inside is sanded smoother to reflect more cleanly toward the page.

The yoke and pull-chain are blackened steel, not painted aluminum. The walnut canopy is solid wood, oiled, not veneered.
