pored-travertine-cylinder-pendant-walnut-massa
MASSA No.01 | Pored Travertine Cylinder Pendant with Walnut Canopy

The stone we usually polish, left honest.

MASSA is the kind of travertine pendant we never see done correctly. Most fixtures sand the surface flat to make the marketing pretty. We did the opposite. The cylinder is cut from raw alveolar travertine, the pores left fully visible, the surface kept in its natural matte state. When the bulb is on, light escapes through the pores in unpredictable patches. The stone reads as cave wall, not countertop.

The aggregate inside the stone is irregular by nature. Each cylinder lights differently. The pours and air pockets that get edited out of most travertine end up being the whole point here.

One silhouette, one finish: cream alveolar travertine on a walnut canopy. Designed to be specified solo above a console or in clusters above a kitchen island.

Raw travertine, solid walnut

The cylinder is cut from a single block of unfilled travertine. We use unfilled stone deliberately. Filled travertine looks like marble pretending to be travertine. Unfilled lets the porosity do its work.

The canopy is solid walnut, turned and oil-finished. The cord is 59 inches, easily shortened. One E26 socket accepts an LED bulb up to 40W equivalent. Works with a standard wall dimmer. Compatible with sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees.

For kitchens, halls, and dining rooms

Hardwires to any US junction box. Specify above an island, a long dining table, or a tall entryway.

Sold individually. Most islands call for two or three.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1073/6861/2177/files/travertine-pendant-light-bathroom-vanity-massa-no-01-01.png?v=1790701599
